Just read you article in the Gulf News (02/04/10) on “Art in the region”. Couldn’t agree with you more. While the museum may take its time think ‘public art’ already exists in forms & pockets. All it now needs is a place of such expression.
I have often wondered why couldn’t RTA get creative with all the beams that support the Metro on Sheikh Zayed Road & beyond. Imagine these physical structures being used as a canvas that gave all the UAE artists across all ages & nationalities a voice. That would give Sheikh Zayed Road a soul & make a huge statement about the city.
Let’s give this thought some wings. Afterall it is, “My City. My Metro” !!!!
